Training and professional background

I hold a Diploma with distinction (Dip.Hyp.dist) with Chrysalis, one of the UK’s larger therapy and counselling trainers. The Diploma route includes accreditation and recognition through professional bodies such as the Royal College of Nursing, the Counselling Society, the Hypnotherapy Society and the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. I am also a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society.

Counselling work sits alongside hypnotherapy. This includes work with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and longer term patterns that benefit from talking therapy as well as hypnotic work.

What this means for you

  • A clear explanation of what approach fits your problem best.
  • Work that stays grounded in goals, boundaries and review.
  • Support that looks at both symptoms and wider patterns where needed.

How hypnotherapy and counselling fit together

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy uses focused attention and guided therapeutic work. It often fits habits, fears, physical responses and performance issues such as smoking, phobias, confidence, sleep, IBS and pain support.

Counselling

Counselling gives more space to talk through events, relationships and longer standing patterns. It often fits ongoing anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties and past experiences.

Integrated work

Some people benefit from both. You might talk through history and relationships, then use hypnotherapy for panic, sleep or confidence. The balance is agreed with you and reviewed as you go.

Session structure and pace

First sessions focus on what you want from the work and how the problem shows up day to day. You look at triggers, patterns and what realistic improvement would look like.

Work then moves at a manageable pace. You agree small steps and review what is changing, what stays stuck and what needs a different approach.

What to expect

  • A calm first session with clear goals.
  • Work paced around what feels manageable.
  • Regular review so the process stays useful.
