Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Specialist Hypnotherapy handles personal information when you visit www.specialisthypnotherapy.co.uk, contact us or enquire about services.
Who is responsible for your information?
Data controller: Garry Ebrey, trading as Specialist Hypnotherapy.
Contact: info@specialisthypnotherapy.co.uk.
What information we collect
When you submit our contact form, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number and the message you choose to send. We may also receive technical information needed to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the form, such as submission time, browser details and the page from which the enquiry was sent.
Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal or medical details in your initial website enquiry.
Why we use your information
We use enquiry information to respond to your request, arrange consultations or appointments, provide relevant service information and maintain appropriate records of our communications. Where appropriate, we may send an acknowledgement by email or SMS. We do not use your enquiry details to send unrelated marketing messages without a suitable lawful basis.
For ordinary enquiries, our lawful basis is generally taking steps at your request before entering into a contract or our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries. If you provide information about your health or other special-category information, additional UK GDPR protections apply and we will assess the appropriate lawful basis and Article 9 condition for any processing.
Contact-form emails and SMS
Our website uses service providers to process contact-form submissions, send acknowledgement and notification emails, and send or manage acknowledgement text messages. This may include website hosting, Cloudflare services, email delivery services and an SMS gateway. Your contact details and enquiry may be processed by these services as needed to deliver your message and our response.
We do not publish your enquiry or share it for unrelated advertising purposes.
Cookies and optional page-history tracking
We use essential storage to remember your privacy choice and support necessary website functions. Our cookie preferences control stores your choice for up to 30 days, after which we ask again.
With your permission, we plan to use optional browser storage to remember up to the last five pages you visited on this Hypnotherapy website. When you submit a contact enquiry, this history may be included in the notification sent to us to help us understand which services you were interested in. This does not collect browsing history from unrelated websites. The feature will not record page history unless you have agreed to optional tracking.
You can accept, decline or change optional tracking at any time using the Privacy Preferences control on this website. Declining optional tracking does not prevent you from browsing or submitting an enquiry.
Note: The five-page history feature is not yet enabled. This section describes the planned feature.
Withdraw cookie consent and clear page history
You can turn off optional tracking and delete any page history stored by this feature on this browser. This will not remove information already sent in a previous enquiry.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including appropriate professional, legal and record-keeping obligations. Once enabled, optional page history will be stored only in the current browser session and cleared after a successful enquiry submission, when consent is withdrawn, or when the browser session ends. The history included in an enquiry email remains part of that email until the enquiry is deleted under our normal retention arrangements.
Security and service providers
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information, including restricting access to contact messages and using secure connections where available. Some suppliers may process information outside the UK; where this occurs, we assess the applicable transfer rules and safeguards.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, and request data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page when our services, website technology or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows when this version was last revised.
