How this hypno gastric band approach works
The hypnosis process uses detailed guided imagery designed to support behavioural change and healthier eating patterns.
Across four sessions we explore your patterns with food, emotions and movement. We then use personalised guided imagery and practical strategies to support steady changes in everyday eating habits.
- Understand triggers for overeating and night eating.
- Build awareness of hunger, fullness and eating pace.
- Rehearse new choices and responses in hypnosis.
- Use detailed guided imagery based around a virtual gastric band process.
- Support long term changes in eating and movement.
Who this programme suits
This work suits adults who want support with weight management, feel ready to work on eating patterns and prefer a psychological approach to change.
It does not replace medical assessment. If you live with complex medical conditions, you speak with your GP first.
Session 1. Assessment and new choices
Understanding your storyWe explore eating patterns, triggers and movement. Together we clarify what you would like to change and what you want life to look like in the future.
You experience an initial hypnosis session focusing on calm, safety and small realistic changes. We highlight strengths and resources you already use in other areas of life.
Session 2. Preparation session
Preparation in depthReview progress and refine your plan. In hypnosis you meet your future self making healthier choices around food, drink and movement.
We prepare you for the guided imagery session. You rehearse the virtual gastric band process in a calm and steady way.
Session 3. Virtual gastric band session
Guided gastric band imageryYou experience a detailed guided hypnosis sequence based around the idea of a virtual gastric band procedure, adapted to your situation.
Suggestions aim to support comfortable smaller portions, slower eating, reduced overeating and greater care for your health.
Session 4. Follow up and adjustment
Living with the virtual bandWe review your experience with appetite, portion size, eating speed and movement. Hypnosis focuses on strengthening helpful habits and addressing any difficulties that appeared between sessions.
We also focus on long term maintenance and relapse prevention. You leave with a clear plan and resources to keep using after sessions finish.
Your BMI and health
Body Mass Index, or BMI, offers one guide to health risk. It compares height and weight in a single number.
A BMI between 18 and 25 sits in the “Normal” range. Between 25 and 30 falls in the “Overweight” range. Between 30 and 40 falls in the “Obese” range. A BMI over 40 is often described clinically as severe obesity.
A higher BMI can be linked with increased health risks. BMI is only a general guide, so speak with your GP for personal medical advice.

Is this a medical procedure
No. This work uses hypnosis and guided imagery only. No physical surgery, no medication and no recovery time.
Will weight loss happen for everyone
Results differ from person to person. The approach supports change in eating, movement and mindset. Success relies on practice, repetition and using ideas outside sessions.
What if I already had bariatric surgery
We discuss your history first. In some situations hypnosis can support life after surgery rather than focusing on a virtual band.
